We decided to enter Daddy Hinkle’s new All Natural Low Sodium Blend in this year’s Scovie Awards. The low sodium blend is naturally gluten free and contains no MSG. It adds great flavor to meats and veggies with half the sodium of our Original marinade.
We created this low sodium blend for our customers who wanted the same great taste of the Original blend, but with half the sodium. It took months of cooking and tweaking until we were satisfied with the quality and flavor of the low-sodium blend. It is naturally gluten-free, contains no MSG or preservatives, and is great on all meats and veggies.

One day my friend Bridget said, "Hey, I love Daddy Hinkle's, but I can't wear my wedding ring when I eat it. Please make a blend with less sodium." We set out to create a blend with half the sodium. About a year later we were satisfied with this blend. Since Bridget was the inspriation behind the blend, I put a note on the packages telling customers about Bridget's request for a low sodium Daddy Hinkle's product. For some reason, I decided to edit her story about her wedding ring not fitting, subsituting instead the words "retains water." The next time Bridget saw me, she asked me why I did that. Immediately I regretted it. So, here's my chance to set the story straight. Sorry Bridget! You are so right. The story was 10 times better when it included your wedding ring!
